Most inflatable products come with a patch kit that works well for minor leaks. However, when dealing with a seam leak, a simple patch may not be enough. In this case, you’ll need a stronger solution to ensure a long-lasting repair. Follow these easy steps to fix your inflatable and get back to enjoying it in no time!

For a better understanding, watch this video.

Step 1: Locate the Leak

  1. Fill a spray bottle with a mixture of soap and water.
  2. Spray the solution along the seams of the inflatable.
  3. Watch for bubbling—this indicates the location of the leak.
  4. Mark the spot so you don’t lose track of it.

Step 2: Prepare the Surface

  1. Deflate the inflatable completely.
  2. Dry the seam thoroughly to ensure a strong bond.
  3. Use acetone or rubbing alcohol to clean the leak area and remove any dirt, oil, or debris. This helps the adhesive bond properly.
  4. Let it air dry for a few minutes before proceeding.

Step 3: Apply the Adhesive

  1. Using the adhesive that comes with the repair kit and apply it liberally over the leak.
  2. If possible, apply a small amount inside the seam for extra durability.
  3. To ensure the patch adheres properly, place a heavy and flat object on top of it. This will keep the patch in place and allow the glue to bond securely.
  4. Let the adhesive dry for at least 6-12h before proceeding.

Step 4: Test for Leaks

  1. Fully inflate the product.
  2. Spray the soap and water solution over the repaired area.
  3. If no bubbles form, the leak is sealed! If bubbles appear, repeat the process.

With these simple steps, your inflatable should be good as new and ready for use! If you need additional help, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
